我自己就推荐一个啦，www.answers.com，相当于一个super encyclopedia，写英文paper的时候经常进去查资料，answers挺好的，俺们一直用它。
还有一个我发现里面推荐的比较有趣的是www.there.com 网站的推荐语是 A chatroom with a twist: instead of just reading each other’s text, you get to meet people in the virtual flesh. Type in what you want to say and it appears in a speech balloon over your onscreen character’s head. You can do stuff like shop for clothes and race dune buggies, or just hang out and socialize.
遗憾是这是付费的聊天社区，但是但是有免费三天试用，可以去玩玩，有意思～

一、Google Earth的整体介绍
Google Earth伴有一个客户机软件，整合Google的“本地搜索”以及“驾车指南”两项服务，能够鸟瞰世界，将丰富目前Google搜索可提供的服务内容。借助Google Earth，他可以在虚拟世界中如同一只雄鹰在大峡谷中自由飞翔，登陆峡谷顶峰，潜入峡谷深渊。而且Google Earth采用的3D地图定位技术能够把Google Map上的最新卫星图片推向一个新水平。用户可以在3D地图上搜索特定区域，放大缩小虚拟图片，然后形成行车指南。这样，以后一旦你到了一个陌生的地方，你再也不用害怕找不到方向了。
1、整体感觉
Google Earth
打开Google Earth软件你会发现仿佛你身处太空中正俯视着自己的家园——地球一样，将光标放在上面形成一个手掌后按住左键不放拖动鼠标，这时就象地球一样，地球会转动起来。从上面的图片中我们可以看出来，Google Earth是一个很直观的软件。给用户一目了然的感觉。试想下我们用地球仪的时候，如果要找某个地方我们会很方便迅速的转动地球仪直到我们找到要找的地方。Google Earth也是一样的效果，用户可以很随意的翻转上面的这个地球。
2、界面布局
在Google Earth软件中最上面的一排是常用的菜单，包括了文件菜单（File）、编辑菜单(Eidt)、视图菜单(View)等
My Places用于存放自己常用地点或地区的位置图，Temporary Places用于临时存放地点或地区位置
一般说来My Places选项中都存有系统自带的几个比较有名的大的地方的位置（比如：尼加拉瓜瀑布 Niagara falls）。而Temporary Places指的是临时的存放位置的地方。这样的设置符合Google的一贯设计风格，既能较好的照顾的用户的个人习惯，也能满足用户临时不常用的使用需求，展示了Google在用户体验方面的独到认识。
二、Google Earth的主要功能试用：
Google Earth作为搜索引擎其最为简单，也是最基本的功能就是对某个地方实现定点的查看。下面以我们具体的来找我们首都的天安门广场为例子，来体验该软件的地域搜索服务。
1、定点查看
将地球定位到北半球的亚洲，用滚鼠将地球拉近，biejing的红色字样清晰可见，这样我们就北京的方位了。

除了北京，附近其他的大城市也有注明，如tianjin(天津)、shenyang（沈阳）等
双击让视角慢慢变大，一开始图象有点不是很清楚，这个跟网络的数据传输有关。不过等会就变得清楚了

从Google Earth搜索引擎给我们搜索的天安门图片看来，其仿真效果非常出色。不论从大小、比例和周围的3D细节都无可挑剔！！而且Google Earth用起来也非常容易上手，只要是你想看的地方双击就可以了。就凭这一点就可以适应更多的用户。在速度方面，虽然会受网络的影响，但是受影响的程度不大。
2、交通指示
对于一个陌生的地方，尤其是城市。熟悉交通显得非常重要，Google Earth搜索引擎为我们提供了很好的资料。
对于主要的路线，比如你要去北京的首都机场，将左下角的roads和Airports选项勾上后，地图上就出现了机场的符号以及北京城内的各主要道路。

Google Earth的图像均由卫星拍照传来，所以只要你能识别周围的比较特别建筑物，那就可以很轻松的找到你所在位置。它可以将城市里的每一个街道、楼房都能描绘出来，包括路线。有这样清楚的卫星图片，Google Earth就成为一个通过Internet实现的全球定位系统了。当这些图片信息越来越完善的时候，甚至在旅游途中饿了或者口渴了要找地方的话，你只需要把对应的Dining(饭馆)和Coffee House(咖啡馆)勾上就可以了。

自动寻找路径是Google Earth搜索引擎中最有特点的一个功能，该功能能够将你所在的位置（from here）到目标位置（to here）之间找到一条最捷径的路线，而且还指出了该路线所经过的地方的详细信息。
紫色的就是从一个地方到另外一个地方的路线，而且是最短路线
唯一不足的是，由于Google Earth是美国卫星图片，所以这个图片对于北美地区的质料现得特别详细，因此该自动寻找路线的功能也只有在北美地区能够使用。其他的比如中国、朝鲜等地方恐怕由于质料不够详细所以就不能使用该功能。（毕竟自家的东西还是自家的人好用嘛！）。
三、试用总结
以上写了这么多的东西，总的给我的感觉就是Google Earth功能实在是非常强大，不愧是世界第一搜索引擎Google的产品！早就听说GPS全球卫星定位系统，而Google Earth通过访问Keyhole的航天和卫星图片扩展数据库来也为用户实现了实现GPS功能。该数据库含有美国宇航局提供的大量地形数据，未来还将覆盖更多的地形，涉及田园，荒地等。使用户能够更深入的得到地区信息，无论他们是想考察度假的目的地还是找个居住的好地方或者是外出都可以Google Earth为他们提供第一手资料。
人无完人，Google Earth也是存在缺点。有些城市的图片更新方面还存在缺憾，很多城市的图片都是很早以前的，里面的数据资料也是早以过期。在Google Earth刚推出的阶段可以理解，如果等Google Earth成熟以后还是这样的状况的话可能就让会让一些使用者失望了！
